MEDICAL DIRECTION, OVERSIGHT & PRESCRIPTION
The FDA views AED's as restricted devices requiring a physician’s prescription and allows each state to control the use of public access defibrillation. At the present time FDA regulations do not detail the precise nature and scope of medical direction, oversight or training required to own and use AED's. Since AED's have become more widespread over the past few years some predict OSHA will get more involved and may even mandate AED's. It is likely that federal requirements affecting the sale and use of AED's may change in the near future. When future FDA, OSHA or state regulations come to fruition, Advanced First-Aid, Inc. will alert your business and will assist you to remain compliant.
A Board Certified Emergency Physician licensed in your state will provide the necessary prescription for purchase and continuing oversight services for the site’s AED program, through Advanced First-Aid, Inc.
